Here is a copy of the inspection items on the form the RA fills out, so you know how to best prepare!
General Cleanliness:
- Excessive trash accumulation
- Unusual or unpleasant odor
- Surfaces not clean or wiped down
- Food storage not contained (opportunity for pests)
- Damp towels/clothing present (opportunity for environmental growth)
- Floor in need of cleaning (mopping or vacuuming)
Suite/Apartment Cleaning:
- Appliances need cleaning (stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, shower/tub, toilet, sinks
- Above cleanliness items in the apartment/suite common spaces
Prohibited Items:
- Halogen Lamps
- Personal appliances with exposed heating elements (toaster)
- Non-GT-Provided lofts
- Non-GT-Provided door locks
- Traditional extension cords (without surge protector)
- Pressure cookers/Instant Pots/Air Fryers
- 3D Printers
- Personal refrigerators larger than: 33/18/18”
- Alcohol (if residents are under 21)
- Illegal Substances (Drugs, marijuana, etc)
- Fireworks
- Weapons (firearm, non-kitchen knife)
- Pets (Any non-service animal or not approved Emotional Support Animal)
- Electric personal mobility devices (scooters)
Fire and Electrical Safety:
- Items touching or hanging from ceiling or sprinklers
- Inoperable smoke detectors
- Blocked egress (less then 24” of space blocking doors)
- Door closers inoperable
- Electrical sockets overloaded (too many items or large amp items plugged into same socket)
- Evidence of tampering with electrical wiring
Miscellaneous:
- Fish Aquarium larger than 10 gallons
- Items less than 6” from the HVAC intake
- Extra GT-owned furniture (lounge furniture)
- Missing GT-owned furniture
Maintenance Issues to be reported to Maintenance for Repair/Resolution:
- Electrical faceplate broken/missing
- Broken blinds
- Lights need to be replaced
- Signs of leak
- HVAC working properly
- Environmental growth present
- Lofted furniture is wobbly or broken
- Smoke detector chirping
- Evidence of pests
