Toilets clogs can occur when products other than waste and toilet paper are flushed down the toilet.
- Please only flush toilet paper. Please dispose of all other waste by placing it in the garbage.
- Flushing hand towels, paper towels, Kleenex, feminine hygiene products, dental floss will cause sewage lines to clog, resulting in toilets to overflow and sewage to backup into your living space. These types of products should be thrown away in the garbage for your safety and convenience.
- If the toilet overflows or runs all the time, shut off the water supply behind the toilet tank. Clean-up of the water is the resident’s responsibility.
- Know How to Plunge: Make a tight seal before vigorously plunging for 20 to 30 seconds, which should be enough to remove a clog. Fill the sink you’re plunging with water before trying to dislodge a clog.
- Do not put non-food items down the disposal. It will become clogged and require maintenance to repair it.
- In case of a breakdown of an essential service (plumbing, lighting, heating, lock, etc.) or a problem that threatens health and safety, report the problem quickly. Emergencies will be addressed immediately. Less severe maintenance problems may be resolved within 24 hours.
