Laundry at Georgia Tech is free for residents. In order to keep our laundry facilities clean and functional, please follow these tips and recommendations. For questions or concerns about the facility or surrounding area, contact your RA.
Laundry Locations
Each residence hall has a laundry facility located within or adjacent to the residence hall and can be used by all residents living in the hall or area. Use your BuzzCard to access the facility!
Laundry Machines
Each facility is equipped with multiple washers and dryers for residents to use. To keep these machines functioning, please review these tips and guidelines.
- Do not overfill the machines. This refers primarily to washers, since laundry is free to residents, we encourage you to have smaller loads, use more machines, or wash more frequently.
- Use the right amount of detergent in the right location. Students often overfill the soap dispenser and use way product than necessary. While the use of detergent pods is not prohibited, we encourage residents to use liquid or powder detergent to increase the longevity of the machines.
- If you find that you prefer or need to use detergent pods, they MUST be thrown in the drum itself, not the regular dispenser.
- Pause the cycle before attempting to open the door. If a resident needs to open the washer or dryer mid-cycle, they will need to pause the cycle before opening the door. The washers lock the doors during the cycle and can be damaged if a resident attempts to open it mid-cycle.
Maintenance Request for Laundry Machines
If there is an issue with a laundry machine, it is important that a maintenance request is submitted as soon as possible. Residents should include the 6-digit identifier found on the machine so the technicians can repair the correct machine.
