First-year student: a newly admitted, first-time college student, who will matriculate to Georgia Tech in the coming summer or fall.
New Transfer: a newly admitted student transferring from another institution in the coming summer or fall (not to be confused with established transfer students who are current residents or current students).
New Graduate: a newly admitted graduate student beginning their graduate studies in the coming fall. This includes undergraduate students who continue into a graduate program after completing their bachelor's degree.
Rising Second-year: a sub-section of "current residents", rising second-year students includes any student continuing from their first-year as a student and resident into their second year in the coming summer or fall. These residents are the first to apply in the current student application cycle to allow those students most in need of the support found in campus housing to secure bed spaces first.
Single Graduate: a graduate student who will not live with a spouse/partner and/or dependent children.
Family: undergraduate or graduate student who will live with their spouse/partner and/or dependent child or children.
Current resident: any student who currently lives in the residence halls at the time of application.
Current student: any student who is already enrolled and completing coursework at Georgia Tech.
