Step 5: Connect with Community
Research shows that students who participate in housing communities have higher academic success rate, higher graduation rates, higher levels of satisfaction with their college experience, and an easier time connecting with their peers (Association of American Colleges & Universities, 2010).
We offer a variety of communities for students and want you to find your place to help you thrive! Whether you are looking for richer connections with faculty, specific academic or entrepreneurial opportunities, support for social, academic, or career development, or more ways to get involved on campus, we want to help you find the place where you belong.
This page of the application tells you more about joining the communities open to incoming first-year students:
- First-Year Experience (includes all first-year housing)
- Gender Inclusive Housing
- Living Learning Communities: Explore, Global Leadership, Grand Challenges, Honors Program, and Impact
Action items on this page: While nothing on this page is required, it's a good way and a good time to consider and connect with some of our more intentional communities.
