Step 5: Connect with Community
Research shows that students who participate in housing communities have higher academic success rate, higher graduation rates, higher levels of satisfaction with their college experience, and an easier time connecting with their peers (Association of American Colleges & Universities, 2010).
Whether you are looking for richer connections with faculty, specific academic or entrepreneurial opportunities, support for social, academic, or career development, or more ways to get involved on campus, we want to help you find the place where you belong.
This page of the application tells you more about joining the communities open to incoming first-year students:
- Gender Inclusive Housing
- Second-Year Experience
- Living Learning Communities: WST, I-House. If you are eligible to continue with your first-year LLC, that option will appear.
- Elsewhere on campus: any apartment housing that is not specific to one of the programs above.
Action items on this page: Select your community of choice from the drop-down menu (Second-Year Experience, LLCs, or elsewhere on campus), and then click the navy "SAVE & CONTINUE" button at the bottom of the page.
