Who this applies to: Incoming Students living on East or West Campus
Where: Campus Recreation Center parking deck (review this map to check-in)
When: Arrive at the deck within your 15 minute check-in appointment window
Before your move-in appointment:
- Check your appointment time in My Housing
- It is critical that all students arrive at check-in at the time of their appointment
- If you will arrive after check-in closes, please follow the instructions for the Late Arrival Process
- If you do not have a BuzzCard, submit your BuzzCard photo online following these guidelines
- Connect with your roommate through My Housing to discuss appliances, allergies, and other considerations
- Please review items to bring and move-in FAQs
- Review the map of how to get to campus
- Ensure you have your photo ID and check-in ticket
What to prepare for:
- Plan to stay in your car throughout check-in process
- There will be signage directing you to single car and multi-car lanes
- The check-in location has a maximum high of 7-feet 6-inches to enter. This means U-hauls and other taller vehicles will not be able to enter.
- The resident should be in one of the front seats of the car with their photo ID and check-in ticket (QR code emailed to them) ready in hand.
- In the parking deck, residents will receive a check-in envelope with all necessary materials
- Volunteers will direct you to your unloading zone near your residence hall.
Once you reach your unloading zone:
- Volunteers will be present to help unload your belongings from your car into a bin.
- Do not leave your vehicle unattended while unloading.
- As soon as your items are in a bin, we ask that your vehicle is moved to short term parking to allow others to unload. There will be golf cart shuttles available to bring you back to your residence hall.
After unloading:
- As you unpack, look for signage and spaces for recycling of cardboard boxes and Styrofoam.
- You will receive an email from the Hall Director with instructions for filling out a room condition report, submitting maintenance requests, and other ways to settle in to your new home
- Connect with your RA about your first floor meeting other welcome activities
Arriving by Rideshare?
- Follow the same map to check-in at the Campus Recreation Center deck, where you will find a drop-off for rideshare passengers before you enter. You will check in at the entrance, and from there we will provide transportation to your residence hall with your belongings.
Arriving by Public Transit?
- Take the MARTA to the Midtown/10th St. Station, from there take the Stinger (campus bus system) Gold Route to the Campus Recreation Center stop. Then follow the signs for walk-ups that will lead you to check-in.
- The Gold Route will follow its typical schedule on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturdays
- If you arrive outside of official move-in times or after the Gold Route has stopped, we recommend a rideshare or call a Stingerette to bring you directly to your residence hall
