No, Georgia Tech does not require first-year students to live on-campus. While it is not a
requirement, we encourage first-year students to take advantage of the resources and support offered through an on-campus residential experience. In 2024, Georgia Tech launched the First-Year Wellness Experience, supported by the Office of Student Engagement and Well-Being (SEWB). This initiative, based around the eight dimensions of wellness, seeks to provide first-year students with resources, activities, events and programming to support their well-being in the collegiate environment.
